An avid fisherman and accomplished captain, Mark has spent his entire working life in the marine industry. His deep passion for boating and fishing started during his childhood while spending summers on Harker’s Island, NC. Mark’s knowledge of the sea, his conservative upbringing, and his love of people are evident when interacting with his customers. Born in Winston-Salem, NC, Mark Connors got his start in the marine industry in 1993 while living in Annapolis, MD. After attending Hampden-Sydney in Virginia and Washington College in Maryland, he began his career in Annapolis working for the Annapolis Boat Shows, and was instrumental in the development of the successful Annapolis Powerboat School.  Afterwards, Mark moved to Wilmington, NC where he formed Connors Marine Services, LLC.  During this time, Mark offered a busy yacht delivery and maintenance service before becoming a broker for Baker Marine.  In 2001, Baker Marine named Mark as the Manager of their newly opened office in Virginia Beach, VA.  Mark was recruited by Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in 2006 as Broker-in-Charge of the Virginia office once we acquired the dealership for both Hatteras Yacht and Grand Banks.  A full-time broker since 1998, Mark has had experience with a wide variety of boat manufacturers including Hatteras, Grand Banks, CABO, Tiara, Bertram, Post, and Viking.  A long-time member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club, Mark is as much at ease with his cruising customers as he is chasing billfish offshore.  Mark, his wife Nelee, daughters Finley and Mary Archer, and dog Sonny live in the Larchmont section of Norfolk, VA.  The family enjoys spending time together at sporting events, cultural shows, the beach, and of course, boating and fishing!

He was consistently proactive ...

1994 Grand Banks 46 Classic - Cannoneer Jan, I’m not sure I should admit I’ve been doing this for 40 years! I’ve dealt with all types of brokers, going back to the “early days” when we felt we could take adversarial positions on behalf of our clients. Mark Connors and ...
