Valhalla Boatworks: Five Years of Breakneck Growth and Innovation

Back in 2019, Viking leveraged their intense passion for sportfish yacht design and construction into an all-new premium center console brand when they announced three Valhalla Boatworks models at the Viking/Valhalla VIP Boat Show. It came as quite a surprise to the public at-large, but by this time, plugs for the new hulls were already being precision cut by Viking’s 5-axis router, and perfected by their team of shipwrights. Plus, several of the first hulls were already spoken for by owners and dealers in-the-know, such as Bluewater and some long-standing customers.

Fast forward five years and the progress and growth by Valhalla has been incredible. A year after introducing the V-46, the flagship of the fleet is now a 55-foot mega center console boasting 3,000 horsepower when equipped with five Mercury V12 outboards. Accommodations are available for five in an expansive cabin area complete with a full galley. The yacht-grade finished mechanical space below deck is reminiscent of her sportfish convertible brethren.

Refusing to rest, Valhalla upped their lineup from five to seven models with the announcement of the V-28 Bay and the V-29 Hybrid at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. These newest models extend their heralded performance and yacht-finish features into a new category of waterways and customers. All models except the V-55 are built at Valhalla’s high-tech facility in Mullica, New Jersey, with more than 100,000 square feet of production space. The V-55 is built along with its larger Viking cousins at the company’s headquarters in New Gretna.
Officially rung in at the winter VIP event at the Viking Yacht Service Center in South Florida, Valhalla’s 5th anniversary celebrations continued at the Miami International Boat Show. Valhalla leadership shared a variety of impressive numbers, including over 400 hulls delivered, with half of those being the V-33 and V-41 at more than 100 each! Those achievements are even more extraordinary when you consider the company was started just a year before the pandemic shutdowns and had to suffer through all the ensuing supply chain challenges for much of its existence.

Viking’s relentless drive to innovate, expand and offer new products is directly responsible for the impressive growth that the Valhalla brand has achieved in five short years, and is proof that even the smaller anniversaries can be worthy of celebrating. These are exciting milestones and we cannot wait to see what’s next!
