Accommodations
Walk down the companionway and the first thing you will notice is her woodwork with high gloss accents and beautifully maintained teak and holly sole. Next you will notice the abundance of natural lighting and ventilation reaching into the spacious cabin from the hatches and port windows. Once down below, you have the head and nav station to starboard and galley to port. The master cabin is aft and forward is the saloon followed by the v-berth.
The Saloon features a large drop leaf table with two built in drawers and secret storage accessed from a recessed lid. Fold up the table and the port side settee neatly wrap around the dining table for more available space. Shelving and cabinet storage is outboard of the port and starboard settees. The saloon has sleeping capacity for 3 from the single settee/berth starboard and double berth once the filler cushion is installed in the port settee.
Just aft of the saloon and to starboard Mairead offers the most desirable Navigator's Station of the Tartan 4100 models. The unobstructed forward-facing layout is the most covenant and intuitive for the navigator. Located next to the companionway for easy communication between the helmsmen and navigator.
The galley is athwart ships and is also equipped with optional features not seen in earlier models. Access to the refrigerator comes from two flush countertop hatches and an oversized front face access door. Counter space can be limited in some galleys, but Mairead has a Corian drop leaf extension and a clever drying rack, which folds down form the bulkhead so water can drip into the sink (SEE PHOTO). There is a Force 10 oven/ 3 burner gimbaled LPG stove, GE 600w Microwave and a vast amount of dry storage.
The spacious head is certainly a highlight. A simple Plexiglas water shield hinges out to section off the shower stall. The automatic sump and simple design help makes for a simple clean up. Storage for showing products is behind a cabinet in the shower stall and behind the sink the vanity further aft. The standard marine head is properly mounted for comfort and functional for offshore conditions.
The two staterooms are located in the fore and aftermost ends of the yacht. The v-berth is forward and offers a unique sink vanity with H/C water pressure. Aside from the vanity, storage comes from 4 large drawers underneath the berth and full-length hanging locker/cabinet to starboard. A nice feature for this berth unlike most v-berths is there is no need for a filler cushion so your bunk in always made and looking ship shape.
Finally, the master stateroom located aft. Storage is no issue in this double berth cabin featuring several cabinets outboard, drawers under the bunk and a large hanging locker to port. Owners also find the private entrance to the head a big plus to the clever design of this boat.
