    General Description

    ARROW

1999, Modern Classic Clipper Yawl / Daysailer / Weekender, 32’ LOD

Designed & Built by Brion Reiff Boatbuilder / Brooklin, Maine

Asking Price: $169,000 / Location: Brooklin, Maine

ARROW is a blending of classic styling reminiscent of the Herreshoff Ariminta with modern thought, design and materials. Designed and built by Brion Reiff, ARROW was constructed using modern cold-molded wood-epoxy composite technology and the latest developments in keel design, rudder shapes and spar materials. All this when combined makes ARROW pleasing to the eye as she comes up from behind and passes you to weather.

ARROW has always been stored indoors during the off-season, maintained by well-regarded Brooklin, Maine boatyards and kept to the highest standards.

Pretty to look at, fast under sail and with just enough in the way of accommodations for a night or two aboard. What more does one really need?

    Interior Accommodations

3-Step companionway ladder flanked by quarter berths (port and starboard) that extend aft under the cockpit seating

Forward of the quarter berths is the galley area with nicely crafted and finished cabinet / counter tops both port and starboard. To port is a stainless-steel sink basin supplied with fresh water by way of a manually operated foot pump. To starboard is a removable countertop with an Origo 3000 2-burner alcohol stove located beneath the countertop. Outboard of both these areas is shelf storage behind siding doors.

Forward of the galley area is seating both port and starboard. Located under the port seat is a Raritan Compact II marine head which is plumbed for discharge overboard or to holding tank for later disposal by way of the bronze “Waste” deck fill. The space under the starboard seat is empty and used for storage.

Forward of the seating area is berthing for two on a large (queen sized) sleeping platform. This should not be confused with a V-berth arrangement (which is usually 2 separate bunks) but is in fact a single large and comfortable sleeping space for 2 together.

Under the berthing platform is located the 2 water tanks (port and starboard of main mast step) of plastic construction with a total capacity of 18 gallons. Forward of the water tanks (on center line is the holding tank, also of plastic construction with a 9-gallon capacity Furthest forward under the sleeping platform is empty space used for storage.

The interior spaces of ARROW are nicely lit with natural light provided by fixed portlights in the cabin sides (3 each port & starboard), by brass reading lights located at the heads of the quarter berths and at the seats. Additional artificial light is provided by small fluorescent fixtures (port & starboard) in the galley area.

There are custom cushions for all berthing and seating that stand out nicely amid the Herreshoff styling of cream-colored joinery with varnished trim and bare teak cabin sole.
